Welcome to Flood Analytics

I am an experienced Flood Risk Engineering with a strong academic and professional background in flood risk and sustainable water management. Holding a BSc in River and Coastal Engineering and an MSc in Sustainable Water Management, I have developed a comprehensive understanding of flood risk processes, drainage design and policy frameworks that underpin effective flood risk assessment and mitigation.

My career spans over 17 years in the flood risk and civil engineering sector, beginning with technical roles in CAD and progressing through to strategic leadership within a Lead Local Flood Authority. Throughout this time, I have gained extensive hands-on experience in preparing and reviewing Flood Risk Assessments, alongside assessing drainage strategies for developments ranging from small-scale applications to large industrial schemes, ensuring compliance with key guidance such as the National Planning Policy Framework, Environment Agency standing advice and SuDS design standards.

My experience also includes writing strategic flood documents, such as the Local Flood Risk Management Strategy and watercourse policies, as well as leading multi-agency collaboration with organisations including the Environment Agency, United Utilities and the Greater Manchester Combined Authority. These roles have strengthened my ability to interpret legislation, apply policy in practice and advise on site-specific and catchment-scale flood risk issues.

Having attended flood events, engaged with affected communities and contributed to flood incident reporting, I bring a practical, real-world understanding of flood mechanisms and their impacts. This insight enables me to produce Flood Risk Assessments that are not only technically robust but also grounded in realistic risk scenarios and mitigation measures.

Overall, my combined experience in technical assessment, policy development and stakeholder engagement allows me to produce clear, compliant and effective Flood Risk Assessments that support sustainable development while prioritising the protection of people, property and infrastructure.
